Jesse Blom (b. Haarlem, 1995)
His practice consists of conceiving gestalt works through the synthesis of his own work across the domains of music, photography and performance, expanded by collaboration with actors within alternative disciplines.
These works, departing from ideas surrounding obscurity, often explore them across three main domains:
Aesthetics
Herein the aesthetic application of deliberate obscurity is experimented with to inquire about the evocative implications such endeavors might bring forth.
Semiotics
This domain examines how non-verbal signifiers might provoke experiential interpretations outside the realm of linguistics.
Deconstruction
Interrogated here are binary opposites within artistic discourse to reveal the ideological constitutions of those opposites, leading to discussions about their broader implications, such as the fundamental problems of the systems in which they are found.
